The Joey Santaniello Walk For All 5k is a student-run event and MANY groups were involved in organizing, promoting and creating this year's success! Our talented Rebel Artists, Writer and Social Media & Communications Managers created a whole new brand for the Walk by making logos for posters / tshirts / online media, animated them, promoted on social medial and around school, worked to get community involved, wrote press releases, created a database of registrants by tshirt size orders, registered people to walk, hung posters around the school, created Spanish translations, marked the course, cheered for walkers or students and MORE! It was great to see so many students who support our Rebel Family. All our student help and involvement more 218 people participated in the walk, which more than doubled the proceeds earned for our students! So proud of our Rebel Family!
CHS Graduate Joey Santaniello died in the summer of 2018, just after Columbine Graduation. Joey loved his time at Columbine High School and was an important member of the Significant Support Needs program, affectionatly called the Challenge Program. This was a big loss to our Rebel Family. His teachers and fellow classmates wanted to honor and remember him by renaming their annual program fundraiser the Joey Santaniello Walk for All 5K.
